Why I Wrote These Books

I wrote these books from a place of lived experience, as a mother, a caregiver, and someone who has seen how deeply words, actions, and everyday moments shape a child’s world.

As a mother of three boys, I have learned that children listen less to what we say and watch more closely what we do. They absorb our tone, our patience, our reactions, and even our silence. Over time, I realised that many of the lessons children carry into adulthood are not taught through instructions, but through example.

I also saw how stories have a unique power to teach gently. A well-told story can reach places that lectures cannot. It can help children understand kindness, resilience, patience, and hope, without fear or pressure.

These books were written to support families who want to raise emotionally secure children, and to remind both children and adults that life’s pauses, delays, and challenges often carry hidden purpose. Whether through parenting reflections or meaningful storytelling, my goal is simple: to offer words that guide, comfort, and encourage growth.

This collection is part of Folktales by Chinwe - a space where storytelling, wisdom, and everyday life meet. I hope these books bring warmth into your home and become gentle companions on your family’s journey.

Thank you for reading, and for choosing to share these stories.
